AnchorPoint announced Wednesday a version of its telecom expense management software that has asset-tracking features, plus support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

Version 6.0 of AnchorPoint TEM software has asset management capabilities that go beyond the telecom-focused ones of earlier editions, says John Venditti, AnchorPoint's vice president of software operations. Version 6.0 lets customers manage all IT-related assets, including service contracts and utilities that have an impact on telecom or IT organizations, he says

In addition, by grouping asset types with qualifiers that customers define, the new software offers more flexibility, Venditti says.

AnchorPoint says it has enhanced its dashboard reporting tools. The vendor has been offering dashboards for two years, but now they have time-saving root-cause-analysis capabilities and are easier to customize, Venditti says. The dashboards now are easier to adapt to key performance metrics that might be of interest to individual executives, he says..

Previously, AnchorPoint’s software used Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The 2005 version includes SQL Server Reporting Services, Service Broker, and Integration Services that provide customers with better drill-down capabilities, Venditti says.

Customers can expect to pay 1% to 4% of their annual telecom budget for TEM software. AnchorPoint 6.0 .is available at no additional cost to AnchorPoint customers with a software maintenance contract.
