EEye Digital Security this week shipped its host-based Blink Professional 3.0 software, which combines antivirus, intrusion prevention, firewall and scanner functions. The multipurpose software will be on display in the exhibit hall at next week’s RSA Conference in San Francisco.

New to Blink Professional 3.0 is endpoint antivirus update protection, which eEye added through its partnership with antivirus vendor Norman Data Defense.

According to Marc Maiffret, eEye’s founder and CTO, Blink’s intrusion-prevention features can catch the vast majority of malware, but adding antivirus protection ensures another layer of protection. “With this, we think we have the first unified agent,” Maiffret says.

Blink Professional 3.0 provides protection for Windows-based servers, desktops and laptops. A one-year subscription starts at $59 per protected asset, with discounts for volume pricing. Current Blink customers obtain v.3 for free.
