Fiberlink Communications announced Thursday that it’s teaming with Sana Security to offer customers zero-day threat protection.
Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect software uses multi-behavioral analysis to detect and then notify customers of security threats against individual laptop users.
Fiberlink has incorporated Sana’s antimalware package into its Extend360 Mobility Platform, which offers secure remote access services to mobile workers over the Internet, 3G wireless, Wi-Fi, and other broadband services.
Fiberlink’s zero-day threat solution allows network administrators to see when malware has been used against each user within their organization, says Mark Cashman, director of product management at the service provider.
“We mask the information from the user. They can see it if they go to a more detailed report [on their Extend360 client]. The log files are captured by the client and transferred back to a customer resource center where the administrator views reports,” Cashman says.
The Sana security software reports on not only malware, but also a list of a dozen other possible malicious attacks from spyware, rootkits, Trojans and worms, he says.
Once alerted that an attack has been made, a network administrator can initiate content filtering in an attempt to thwart further attacks.
The service provider says it will have Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect software integrated in Version 2.0 of the Extend360 Mobility Platform, which will be available by the end of the first quarter.
Customers do not have to pay an additional fee to upgrade to Extend360 2.0. But they will have to pay an extra fee of about $2.50 per user, per month, if they wish to activate the additional zero-day threat protection, Cashman says.
Cashman says Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect software lists for $29.99 per user.
