NitroSecurity Tuesday released a version of its security appliance that adds a way to do network-behaviorial analysis.

NitroView Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) 7.2 includes NitroSecurity’s appliance for collecting log data about third-party intrusion-detection and -prevention systems, routers, servers and Windows hosts, as well as NitroSecurity’s own appliance-based IPS. According to Frank Hayes, senior vice president of marketing, the updated version of ESM can now analyze network users’ behavior for security purposes and present an overview of events.

“When an event happens, we can now drill down and get detail about it based on behavioral analysis,” Hayes says.

NitroSecurity ESM was first introduced last year to collect and store data related to network flow as well as analyze and report about it. Since that time, it has been updated to accept data feeds from numerous third-party security products, such as the Cisco PIX.

The upgraded product starts at $20,000.
