Websense on Monday announced a version of its Web-filtering product and bandwidth-management gateway product for small to midsize businesses.
Websense Express, intended for use in organizations with as many as 1,000 employees, works similarly to Websense Enterprise, which provides Web and application-protocol filtering for tens of thousands of users. According to Steve Kelly, senior director of product management at Websense, the SMB version is designed with a simple user interface for easy installation.
“This is installed on a single Windows-based server,” Kelly says about Websense Express, comparing it to Websense Enterprise, which permits more complex multi-server deployment under a single management console.
Websense Express, available in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese editions, costs $15.50 per user/per year for 251 to 1,000 users with discounts for multiyear subscriptions.
