Oracle has agreed to buy Netsure Telecom Limited, which makes software for network intelligence, analytics and data integrity, Oracle announced Sunday. The sale price was not disclosed.

Netsure, based in Dublin, Ireland, will become part of Oracle’s Communications Global Business Unit. Netsure software has been deployed by communications service providers including Vodafone, Cable & Wireless and Eircom.

The deal, expected to close this month, continues a string of Oracle acquisitions that includes buyout targets Hyperion and Agile Software.

“The Oracle acquisition spree continues, with no sign of a slowdown,” writes David Mitchell, senior vice president of IT research at the Ovum consulting firm. “The communications industry is strategically important for Oracle, being one of the sectors with a high reliance on IT and, consequently, strong software spend.”
