Aruba Networks Monday announced it is teaming with video systems integrators Milestone Systems and Wren Associates to introduce wireless video surveillance gear for public-safety on university campuses, corporate locations and retail.
Manav Khurana, head of industry marketing at Aruba Networks, says the firm will have a video-ready version of its wireless LAN this week that requires only a free software grade to existing Aruba hardware to properly manage video feeds. “We’ll be able to identify a video feed and apply quality-of-service to it,” Khurana says about the software upgrade. Video traffic is encrypted using IPSec encryption.
Milestone and Wren are two firms that Aruba Networks is partnering with to install digital or analog cameras to work with Aruba WLANs. Aruba said Ohio State University is among the first customers to use Aruba’s WLAN real-time video monitoring for public safety.
