Apple's senior legal beagle Donald J Rosenberg (senior vice president, general counsel and secretary) has left his post after just 10 months on the job.
Rosenberg is leaving Apple to take an executive vice presidential role at Qualcomm. He came to Apple from IBM in November 2006, replacing previous general counsel, Nancy Heinen.
Heinen is currently being sued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with regard to her connection to stock options backdating at Apple. Apple CEO Steve Jobs was recently subpoenaed by the SEC to testify in the Heinen case.
Apple has a replacement counsel, Daniel Cooperman, who takes his new post on 1 November. He comes to Apple from Oracle, where he worked as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.
