McAfee announced McAfee Total Protection for Network, a new suite designed to end the "appliance and product fatigue" associated with deploying, maintaining and managing multiple security solutions.
McAfee Total Protection for Network includes the McAfee M-8000 Network Security Platform, formerly known as IntruShield and the McAfee Content Security Blade Server, announced separately today.
With each new security threat, new appliances emerge to help companies combat the challenge. As a result, organizations have found themselves in the position of managing multiple point appliances, which decreases efficiency and increases cost of ownership. McAfee has released Total Protection for Network to help organizations consolidate all their network security needs in one comprehensive suite to conduct business more quickly and efficiently.
Total protection for network delivers a simple solution to protect and control a company's enterprise network. The solution provides end-to-end network protection to protect the entire network infrastructure. It blocks attacks, stops spam and Web threats, cleans e-mail, protects un-patched systems and offers a solution to help meet regulatory compliance, including PCI.
Blade servers greatly extend customers' ability to scan high volumes of messages - from 700,000 to five million per hour - simply by adding more blades.
It delivers increased efficiency and cost savings by replacing endless point-product appliances including IPS/IDS, Anti-Spam/antiphishing protection, Web threat protection, e-mail/malware/spyware protection, DoS/DDoS protection, URL filtering, rate limiting, network behavioral detection and instant messaging protection and control.
It is available in versions for both enterprises and midsized businesses. More information about the product is available here.
