FTC opens antitrust investigation into Intel

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has opened an antitrust investigation into chip maker Intel, the agency and Intel said Friday.

Intel said the FTC served a subpoena on the company Wednesday. The company will work cooperatively with the FTC to provide information, as it has since 2006, when the FTC began an informal inquiry, Intel said in a statement.

"The company believes its business practices are well within U.S. law," Intel said in its statement. "The evidence that this industry is fiercely competitive and working is compelling."

Is the FTC really serious this time now???By Anonymous on June 9, 2008, 12:46 pmIf i'm not mistaken this is the second time the FTC is taking up maaters with Intel. The first one ended without even get a hearing and i really wonder if th FTC...
