Foundry Networks this week unveiled out-of-the-box integration with IBM Tivoli Netcool software for its switching and routing customers.
This support is featured in a software module for the IBM Tivoli Netcool management system (compare network monitoring and management systems). It supports Foundry’s NetIron XMR and NetIron MLX series routers, BigIron RX Layer 3 routing switches, FastIron SuperX and FastIron SX converged switches, FastIron Edge series and FastIron Edge Series X switches, FastIron GS series switches, ServerIron application delivery switches and IronPoint WLAN products.
The software module helps simplify operations for Foundry customers who also use IBM Tivoli Netcool, Foundry says. It monitors alerts sent by the Foundry devices in a network and correlates and presents events and alarms.
The integration between Netcool and Foundry is rules-based, meaning root cause analysis of faults in a large network can be rapidly analyzed, Foundry says.
The module is downloadable from IBM Tivoli’s Web site. Pricing was not disclosed.
