As part of activities marking this year's World Post Day, the Sierra Leone Postal Services last week commissioned its Web site and unveiled its electronic tracking system.

The tracking system is a Web-based software that customers can use to track their mailed items as they moves from one point to another.

Innovation in the postal sector has focused on improving the efficiency of manual processes for too long, declared Information and Communication Minister Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo in his speech for the occasion.

"Consequently, present innovations in the postal sector must necessarily involve the development of new services and using traditional postal tools and competencies in a way that will improve the reach of the postal services for the people," he said.
