A24 Media, Africa's first online content-delivery site, has signed agreements with two Kenyan television stations to feature local news on the online platform.

Royal Media Services and K24 TV are the first Kenyan stations to stream to the site, meant to bring an authentic African perspective to a global audience. K24 is a 24-hour news channel that features local eyewitness reports, while Royal Media Services has a wide reach across Kenya and owns Citizen Television, Radio Citizen, and numerous vernacular and regional radio stations.

"A24 is delighted to join hands with K24 and Royal Media Services to open up access to their content to broadcasters across the world seeking a fresh and informed local insight into African issues," said Salim Amin, A24 Media chairman. "We are confident that these will be the first of many national broadcasters across Africa who will embrace the A24 Media platform as a unique way to gain greater share of voice for Africa's stories."

The incorporation of K24 and Royal Media is expected to generate more local content for the online platform.

A24 Media is also launching a new category on its Web site called "African Leaders," featuring biographies of prominent Africans -- such as Nelson Mandela, Robert Mugabe and Mwai Kibaki -- whose achievements and failures have shaped the African continent.
