Microsoft has hired Yahoo executive Kim James Woo to run its operations in South Korea, the company said Thursday.
Kim, who now serves as a regional vice president at Yahoo, is currently the head of Yahoo Korea and Overture Korea, the local arm of Yahoo's search-engine unit. He will start as the country manager of Microsoft Korea on Feb. 1, the software maker said.
Kim replaces Jae Sung Yoo, who is moving on to take another role within Microsoft, the company. It did not specify what his new role will be.
