UBS recruits new CIO from Deutsche Telekom

Swiss banking group UBS announced Thursday that Peter Sany, Group CIO at Deutsche Telekom will become CTO for the Zurch based bank from April 1, 2009.

Sany replaces Scott Abbey who has had a five year career as CTO at UBS. As Deutsche Telekom CIO Sany has been responsible for all internal IT for three years; he joined the company from pharmaceutical giants Novartis. Sany will be returning to Zurich, where he went to university, for this role.

Sany started his career with IBM and spent 14 years with the Big Blue.
