Apple's much-hyped iPhone 3.0 software update has been delayed a day, according to the company's website... in Singapore.
Originally due some time today (June 17, 2009) it now appears that iPhone 3.0 will be available tomorrow (June 18, 2009) - as seen in this screenshot from Apple's Singapore corporate website and replicated in other earlier-than-US timezones such as Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and New Zealand. New Zealand is 11 hours ahead of GMT; Australia, nine; Japan, eight; Hong Kong and Singapore, seven;
For other countries - as far east as India and Russia - the software update remains on schedule for release today. Perhaps unsurpringly that part of the Chinese Apple website had "Access Forbidden".
So it appears that although you can celebrate the New Year hours earlier than everywhere else if you live that side of the International Time Line, getting your hands on sought-after Apple software updates early is not so easy.
Offering copy-and-paste, Bluetooth tethering and A2DP - as well as performance improvements and MMS capability - the 250MB Apple iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update is the biggest update yet for the Apple iPhone 3G and first-generation Apple iPhone.
