Dutch bank ING has signed a "significant" deal with Atos Origin, expanding an existing outsourcing contract.
The bank wants to set up a "simplified" IT infrastructure, which Atos Origin will manage, as well as increasing data storage capacity and virtualisation.
Atos Origin already provides ING with applications, system integration, consultancy and back office processing services.
In January, ING said it was renegotiating contracts with IT suppliers and cutting 7,000 jobs worldwide to offset fourth quarter pretax losses of 3.3 billion (£3.1 billion).
It did reveal the financial terms of the new Atos Origin deal.
