It's not the most inexpensive all-in-one PC on the market, but the recently announced eMachines EZ1601-01 is certainly close. It lacks a bit of internal oomph as compared to the company's similarly priced desktop rigs--the nine-pound EZ1601-01 only runs an average-for-its-class Intel Atom N270 processor at a 1.6 GHz frequency. Other eMachines desktops around the same price range toss an extra core and extra speed into the equation, like the dual-core AMD Athlon X2 4050e CPU found in the company's $380 E1161-07 system.

The trade-off between these two systems is one of visuals. Specifically, the EZ1601-01 has them. The all-in-one system offers up an 18.5-inch LCD display running at a resolution of 1366 by 768. That's not too shabby, given that competing systems like Averatec's D1133AH1E-1 All-in-One PC features similar functionality (and screen size) to the tune of $130 extra.
