Bradford Networks is introducing Network Sentry, a hardware/software package that enhances its established network access control gear to include tracking of gear and access applying policies dynamically.
The product addresses NAC, management of guest devices, tracking of devices that are shared and following of all devices on the network.
11 security companies to watch
Bradford had guest management before but has beefed it up by enforcing security templates, but enabling non-IT staff to extend them. So if outside auditors come into the finance department, the standard corporate security template would be imposed on their devices automatically. A staffer in the finance department could extend that template to restrict their access to a particular set of servers.
Shared Access Tracker associates a person with a shared device to apply the appropriate policies. For example, a doctor using a PC at a nursing station while on rounds would get different access rights from a nurse logging into the same PC. It could equally apply policies to shared stations in a call center.
Device Tracker profiles all devices as they come on the network including those that are not associated with a particular user, such as phones and printers.
