Business analytics software and services specialist SAS already shares a strategic partnership with Teradata, a global company solely focused on data warehousing and related services. The companies are expanding in-database analytics options and note the growing business priority of in-database analytics for leading companies.
Accelerated deployment
The new combination of Teradata database platform and the SAS Business Analytics Framework dramatically accelerates the deployment and execution of business analytics. This result is achieved by leveraging specific Teradata features with the SAS framework, which includes data integration, model development and deployment, forecasting and reporting.
Business Insight Advantage program allows customers to effectively scale and operationalise in-database analytics across the enterprise. As a result, fact-based analytical insight is available to front-line decision-makers.
SAS and Teradata share a mutually beneficial partnership and have successfully grown their joint customer base. Both companies are delivering valuable new offerings to industries all over the world and will soon launch SAS Credit Risk Advantage for Teradata.
This key vertical offer within the Advantage Program is targeted at the financial services industry, and comprises SAS software integrated with the Teradata platform. SAS Credit Risk Advantage for Teradata also includes jointly delivered services for regulatory credit risk capital measurement and management.
Rob Berman, SAS global program vice president at Teradata, noted that their joint customers gain significant value when SAS functions, procedures, and solutions leverage Teradata's scalability and parallelism.
"With SAS 9.2, several SAS procedures can now execute in Teradata for analytics, giving our users the very best business value proposition for accelerating queries and delivering maximum analytic performance."
According to Berman, this has been made possible due to several factors: tighter integration of SAS in Teradata, alignment of their engineering teams, direction from their joint Product Advisory Council, detailed in-database roadmap, and aggressive joint go-to-market strategy.
Strong business partnership
SAS and Teradata together serve many clients including newest joint customers, Commercial International Bank (CIB) in the Middle East and a Spanish telecommunications company. They also serve well-known financial institutions and retailers worldwide.
"SAS and Teradata continue to make significant in-database processing advancements," said Russ Cobb, SAS vice president of alliances and product marketing. "Our growing customer base is seeing considerable revenue growth and cost savings by leveraging SAS analytics and solutions with Teradata."
