You're going to have restart your Mac again. Apple on Wednesday released Safari 4.0.4, an update that addresses "performance, stability, and security."

Software Update will tell you that the update improves JavaScript performance, makes searching through large browser histories less painful, and enhances the stability of third-party plug-ins and, for what it's worth, Yahoo Mail (Yahoo!).

But you, dear reader, go beyond the headlines and Software Update's bulleted lists. You want the details, and that's where Apple's tantalizingly-named "About the security content of Safari 4.0.4" Knowledge Base article comes in. Reading this scintillating bit of non-fiction, you'll learn about fixes for a host of potentially-abusable security flaws in various applications that use WebKit, the rendering engine that powers Safari.

Interestingly, several of the security flaws addressed in Safari 4.0.4 patch vulnerabilities exclusive to the Windows version of the browser. So, yeah--you're going to have to restart your PC, too.

Safari 4.0.4 is available in Software Update, or directly from Apple's Website.
