A few weeks ago, Square-Enix announced that if enough people created Twitter posts regarding a "secret Xbox Live item" for Final Fantasy XIII, the publisher would release said item. A part of me was hoping nobody would tweet about it, since the item was going to be released regardless. It's almost like how at concerts when an opener tells you the headliner will only go on if you "make some noise." You're going to get your reward anyway. In this case, the reward is a chocobo that will serve as an Xbox avatar item.

Any gamers with an Xbox Live account that sign up for the item via Xbox.com's Final Fantasy XIII page will receive an avatar-accompanying chocobo. The final design and function have yet to be disclosed, but it better not try to mate with my avatar's remote-control Halo Warthog. I paid 320 Microsoft Points for that thing.
