While filming on the movie is set to conclude this month, Kotaku has discovered that Resident Evil: Afterlife--the fourth film in Resident Evil movie franchise--will be delayed from its original August 2010 release date to January 2011. AceShowBiz reports that the reason for the delay is the post-production work necessary for director Paul W.S. Anderson.
While consumers often bemoan game delays, it's worth mentioning that movie delays aren't rarities either. Last year, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince saw a massive 8-month delay (Wired) in order to maximize the movie's profit potential.
