Ugly sweaters & sweet deals on Xbox Live for the holidays

Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb has updated his blog with new information regarding the download releases for the rest of December. Last minute shoppers will be rewarded with daily deals starting next Friday, while keeping the popular "Deal of the Week" program. While the daily deals will be a surprise, the weekly deals have been revealed, with Shadow Complex dropping from $15 to $10 from December 21-27 and The Maw selling for $5 the following week.

The Games on Demand program will see quite a few high profile releases throughout the end of December, as Viva Pinata: Party Animals joins the downloadable ranks on December 15, Capcom action games Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition and Devil May Cry 4 come to Games on Demand on December 22, and Gears of War goes downloadable on December 29. An original game called Alien Breed Evolution will land on Xbox Live Arcade next week, with an expansion pack for Trials HD coming on the 23rd.

While all of those downloadable wares are days away, you can avail your Avatar of a selection of holiday-themed clothing, including ugly sweaters, ugly shoes, ugly hats, and a cookie. Check out the entire holiday avatar item selection here.
