Adtran's NetVanta 3450, 3458 and 4430 routers are CPE devices that support sustained throughput of up to 250Mbps, the company says.

The NetVanta 3450 and 3458 are dual-slot platforms that support multiple T-1s or E-1s of bandwidth and 45Mbps of Carrier Ethernet. The NetVanta 3458 also has an integral eight-port Power over Ethernet switch for IP telephony applications. The routers can also be used to provision 3G wireless services for disaster recovery, Adtran says.

The NetVanta 4430 supports up to 750Mbps of throughput.

Other features of the new routers are Hierarchal QoS, traffic shaping and bandwidth allocation to prioritize voice and video traffic; NetFlow traffic and network quality monitoring; voice quality monitoring, for VoIP troubleshooting; LLDP and LLDP-MED for discovery and configuration of IP phones; firewall and VPN support; automated configuration; identity-based network services privileges based on user login; network access control; port security; 802.1Q VLANs; 802.1X port authentication; encrypted management traffic; compatibility with other Adtran Carrier Ethernet routers and switches, such as the NetVanta 800 series for Ethernet in the First Mile applications, and Total Access 3000 and Total Access 5000 aggregation platforms.

The entire product line offers consistent Ethernet service provisioning and delivery from the central office to the enterprise desktop, Adtran says.

The NetVanta 4430 costs $2,895. The NetVanta 3450 and 3458 are priced at $1,795 and $2,094, respectively. All are available now.
