Using a GameStop pre-order multiplayer mode, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 developer DICE and game retailer GameStop are aiming to donate $25,000 to a charitable cause. The catch is only the winning celebrity team gets the cash for their designated charity.
The Battlefield Bracket Challenge features 16 celebrity guests and superstar athletes like comedian Hal Sparks and Cincinnati Bengal Chad OchoCinco. Each celebrity picks their own team and a charity to represent, but the actual gaming goes down between professionals from Major League Gaming in Battlefield: Bad Company 2's Squad Rush mode.
Squad Rush mode is a 30-day pre-order bonus at GameStop for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Even if you don't cash in on that freebie, consumers can fill out brackets for the celebrity teams and follow their progress from February 18 to March 4. GameStop plans to randomly award gift cards to consumers whose brackets do well, as well as a grand prize of $10,000.
GameStop will announce the winners March 23. Check out full contest details here.
