For the second straight year, Tiger Woods is leading the charge for new motion controllers. Tiger Woods 10 came out for the Wii boasting Motion Plus controller support before the peripheral was even released, and this year, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will have support for the Sony Motion Controller. Once again, Tiger will beat the new accessory to market, as the game is due out for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and iPhone platforms on June 8, while the Motion Controller won't release until the fall. EA is forgoing a PC release this year to focus on its browser-based Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online, which is currently in beta.

With Tiger's current hiatus from golf, EA is shifting the focus of the game to other players, as the game will place a heavy focus on the team-based Europe vs. U.S. Ryder Cup event. Also, for the first time in series history, Tiger Woods will share the cover of one of his games with another player. The lucky golfer? The 20-year-old Northern Ireland phenom Rory McIlroy.

GamePro will be chatting with select EA Sports developers during GDC--check back soon to hear more about Tiger Woods' new gaming direction.
