GamePro - In a press release sent out last night, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII hit the 5 million unit mark for games shipped worldwide. Interestingly, 3 million of those units were shipped in North America and Europe.
The press release doesn't break down the total by unit type (Xbox 360 versus PlayStation 3), nor does it say specifically how many units sold in Japan since the game launched in December of last year. However, it does proudly state that, "cumulative shipments of the FINAL FANTASY series have now reached 96 million units."
Think they can hit 100 million on the strength of FFXIII sales alone, or do we need some Versus action to make up the difference?
