Ipsilon
Ipsilon burst onto the network industry scene back in the spring of 1996 with a new concept called IP switching.
But Ipsilon's star began to fade in 1997 as a slew of other IP switching technologies emerged from existing and new players. Ipsilon changed its strategy and began focusing on Internet service providers and carriers instead of corporate customers. In December, Nokia, Corp. bought the company for $120 million.
