Sanga International, Inc.

Sanga International, Inc., a Barbados-based vendor of Java software, went vertical in 1997.

The company started out selling a software package called SangaPages that some observers referred to as a horizontal Java-based groupware product. But Sanga re-evaluated its product positioning when customer acceptance of Java programs got off to a slow start and key Web browsers lacked support for the latest Java Development Kit needed to run Sanga's software.

Sanga now offers versions of its software that cater to specific vertical markets, such as the telecommunications industry.
