Software maker Venation recently upgraded its content distribution technology to support Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000.
Venation supports multiple applications over the same infrastructure, allowing network managers and Web administrators to deliver corporate communications materials, health and safety information, distance learning, for example, over the same platform.
Microsoft ISA Server 2000 is an enterprise firewall and Web cache server that enables IT administrators to provide controlled, secure and fast Internet access to users in their organization.
Venation upgraded its Intelligent Content Distribution platform and Software Distribution and Web Acceleration Adaptors to further support Microsoft ISA Server 2000 users. ISA Server provides a multilayer enterprise firewall and a high-performance Web cache to control, secure and accelerate business on the Internet.
The core of the Venation system is an overlay network of servers located at congestion hotspots, such as areas of high population density on public networks or regional centers within corporate networks. Applications can be connected to Venation using adaptors and the Venation API.
In the case of the Web Acceleration Adaptor for Microsoft ISA 2000, Venation helps users build an enterprise content delivery network. Requests for content are served directly from the cache, and no network traffic is generated as a result of user requests for content.
