ProSoft Training recently launched a security certification program designed to validate network administrators who have the skills required to protect networks, servers and PCs from cyberattack.
Targeted at professionals who already hold network certification, the new CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) Security Analyst recognizes those who can implement security policy, identify security threats, and develop countermeasures using firewalls and attack-recognition technologies. The security pros also need to be able to deploy e-business transaction and payment security.
To qualify for the new designation, you must submit proof of current certification from one of the following vendor programs:
* Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 4
* Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2000
* Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) 4
* Certified Novell Engineer CNE) 5
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
* Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
* Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Level 2
* SAIR Level 2 LCE.
You also must pass the CIW Security Professional exam administered by Prometric and VUE.
" CIW Security Analyst will allow the millions of IT professionals who hold certifications from Microsoft, Novell and Cisco to receive vendor-neutral preparation and validation for a security job role that must contend with the increased complexity and multivendor nature of cyber-security challenges, " says Jerry Baird, chairman and CEO of ProsoftTraining.
The CIW Security Analyst program is also a component of the Master CIW Administrator certification track, which covers multivendor skills in Internet fundamentals, network administration, internetworking and security.
