Harris, a provider of network security solutions for the federal government, and Tech Data announced an agreement that allows Tech Data to distribute the Harris family of security products.
"This agreement gives us a critical commercial sales channel that is necessary to successfully compete in today's network security products market," said Lilo Newberry, director of STAT Operations at Harris.
Under terms of the agreement, Tech Data will distribute STAT Scanner, a vulnerability assessment tool, and STAT Neutralizer, an intrusion prevention tool, to its global network of resellers. The scanner software assesses and automatically repairs more than 1,200 different types of network security vulnerabilities in the Windows NT/2000, Linux and Unix operating platforms. It also tests for the presence of new security patches for Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000; Internet Information Server (IIS) 4 and IIS 5; and Media Player, Outlook and Event Viewer in order to prevent denial-of-service attacks, unauthorized access or privilege elevation. The Neutralizer tool prevents damage from malicious code, human error and other behaviors - whether they originate from internal or external sources.
