DiVitas Networks announced system upgrades with Version 2.0 for its Mobile UC platform. The DiVitas Mobile UC solution adds voice and messaging applications onto smart phones that can run on Wi-Fi networks, cellular networks or both. The latest software edition provides an improved GUI, extended PBX features over the cellular network, visual voice mail, a Voice Quality Engine (VQE), and new management and control tools. With the release, DiVitas moves away from including a hardware appliance to a software-only model, and adds a hosted deployment option.

The improvements to the DiVitas client software focus on ease of use for end users and include:

* A new GUI with icons to provide information at a glance about items needing action like voicemail and queued text messages. The user’s presence information is displayed to inform others of the best communication method to use to reach the subscriber.
* PBX features extended over cellular and Wi-Fi including abbreviated dialing, call transfer, call waiting, call hold/resume, and call conferencing. Existing PBXs dial-plan rules and policies are applied, allowing customers to specify custom dial-plans for mobile use.
* Visual voice mail allows users to access voicemail visually and in any order, which can be downloaded and listened to at a later time.
* New management and control tools give administrators improved capabilities to install, manage and troubleshoot the system. They include wizard-based server configuration, over-the-air (OTA) provisioning of the client software and on-demand debugging, and advanced tools for ROI and usage analytics.

With the release, DiVitas has moved from an appliance-based model to a software-only model so customers can purchase a server from their vendor of choice. DiVitas has certified the Dell R200, Optiplex 330, Poweredge 1950; and HP ProLiant DL160 to be used on the appliance, and plans to certify additional servers in the near term.

DiVitas also now offers a hosted solution option for VoIP service providers which “supports OTA installation and remote system management” . . . “while integrating with existing PBX/Centrex solutions and Class 5 switches making it easy to deploy and manage remotely,” according to the company’s statement.

The DiVitas Mobile UC solution version 2.0 with a 25-user DiVitas Client license starts at list-price of $10,000 and it is available immediately.
