We have a slew of announcements coming out of this week's IT Expo West 2009 being held in Los Angeles with news from Dash Carrier Services, InVox, ShoreTel, VoIP Logic, XCast Labs Zeacom and others. NEC also announced some enhancements this week. We'll start with some highlights today from the show and continue with more next week.

ShoreTel released its Contact Center 5.1 application suite, designed for high-performance and highly available inbound and outbound multimedia contact centers. The new release supports seven additional languages, more advanced reporting features, and more open interfaces to help make scripting easier and thereby enable real-time agent activity.

VoIP Logic, a VoIP managed services and solutions provider, announced it will absorb Sundial Network Services, a VoIP engineering professional services firm. Sundial offers outsourced operations, NOC and monitoring services; along with program management, network design, implementation and migration solutions for services providers who want to transition to VoIP. With the transaction, VoIP Logic customers will enjoy an expanded portfolio of professional services. VoIP Logic also announced it continues to grow with a year-over-year reported revenue increase of more than 90%.

XCast Labs is also growing with two newly announced customers. American Cable Services (ACS) and Suite Solutions Technologies will use XCast to provide digital voice and video services. Commenting on the deal, Suite Solutions Technologies' CEO and President Tom Hamway said in a statement, "We chose XCast Labs because its products include things like video phones and because they are willing to work with us to meet our specific needs. XCast Labs will help us stay ahead of the technology curve as Voice-over-IP (VoIP) evolves, while [making] the phone business profitable for us."

Zeacom released an enhanced Version 5.0 of its software platform that adds user presence and productivity reporting, a new Web portal for remote access to UC features, a new audio conferencing module, desk-to-desk chat, new screenpop options, and "Look Ahead Routing for IVR. Zeacom has also grown according to Zeacom President Ernie Wallerstein, who said in a statement "Despite a global recession which has caused an abrupt halt in most IT spending, our customer base has grown to over 2,800 enterprises, globally. Specifically, this translates into more than 59,000 contact center agents and approximately 144,000 individuals using our software."
