Network World - Two big announcements today from GENBAND: The company has unveiled a three-pronged strategy aligned with its "Making Networks Smarter" vision. In related product news, GENBAND has launched NUViA, a cloud offering that offers unified communications and rich communications services for service providers and partners to brand.
The company's strategic initiative marks the continued evolution of GENBAND's portfolio under three strategic solution pillars that encompass a "smart core, smart edge and smart experience" for its customers. Commenting in a statement, Charlie Vogt, president and CEO of GENBAND, said, "Today, we are unveiling our 'Making Networks Smarter' vision and solution innovations in IMS, RCS, VoLTE, Interconnect, SIP Trunking and Multimedia Communications. These solutions are required by our customers to deliver superior user experiences that make their networks and service offerings more secure, scalable, efficient and profitable."

GENBAND's latest portfolio addition, NUViA, is designed to deliver a comprehensive suite of white-label, cloud-based multimedia communications services that fixed and mobile service providers and channel partners brand and take to market. NUViA provides a pay-as-you-go, unified communications as a service (UCaaS) delivery platform providing differentiated UC and RCS services for the enterprise, small and midsize business, and consumer market segments. Underpinning the GENBAND NUViA cloud service is GENBAND's global professional services organization.
The NUViA UCaaS offering includes HD voice, video, multimedia messaging, mobility, conferencing, Web collaboration, desktop clients, and fixed and mobile convergence. The NUViA RCS offering targets wireless operators, offering a "quicker to market" alternative by providing multimedia communications services and experiences that, according to GENDBAND "go well beyond standard RCS capabilities for consumers."
Commenting on NUViA in a statement, Jeff Townley, president of GENBAND's Services Business Unit & Global Operations, said, "NUViA's unprecedented deployment options, including hybrid models ... augment the NUViA-delivered services with in-house applications, to deliver customers a unique, customized and cost-effective alternative to services derived from premises-based equipment."
