It's amazing what you can find out on the Internet. Last week, our online researcher, Bouriana Zakharieva, updated our e-commerce research page. She collected valuable resources about business-to-business networks. Here are just a few highlights:
An e-commerce tutorial: Check out this tutorial for creating an e-commerce business plan from Webmonkey. In just five easy steps, you can learn the ins and outs of doing business on the Internet, including sales techniques, how to handle online transactions and picking the right software.
The hidden complexities of e-commerce: This white paper by NetSales tells about the e-commerce boom, highlights blunders some companies have made, and true to its title, explains the complexities of doing business online.
IBM's e-business site: IBM is one of the best-known vendors in e-commerce, and its site is a testament to the company's online skills. Chock full of case studies from companies such as Alcatel, DuPont and Prudential, IBM paints the picture of how successful companies use the Web to their advantage.
Harbinger.net: Okay, so sometimes the terms used in e-commerce can get a bit overwhelming. Well, Harbinger has put together a glossary and a guide to e-commerce standards to help you sort through the hype. You can also ask the "Doctor" your e-commerce questions.
Publications. We've gathered a list of e-commerce publications for you to peruse and sign up for. From the Electronic Commerce and Law Report to the Electronic Markets Journal, you'll find all the latest trade magazines and e-zines to keep you up to date.
Vendor sites. We've compiled a list of vendor sites that feature detailed product information, as well as whitepapers and case studies. Oracle, Sun and InfoTree, just to name a few, all boast extensive e-commerce resources.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what we have for you, so head online and let us help you with your e-commerce research. And let me know what you think, particularly if we're missing something you think we should have on our e-commerce research page.
