Nearly 18 months ago, GTE Internetworking announced its Global Network Infrastructure plans. But, until recently the ISP's network build-out didn't appear to be global at all.

Last week GTE Internetworking announced that it is finally expanding some of its new and staple services to users overseas.

GTE Internetworking's Virtual Private Network Advantage service; the firm's managed Internet security services (which includes SitePatrol); the remote dial-up Internet access service, DiaLinx; and GTE's Web-hosting services are now available in 39 countries.

The service level guarantees that GTE Internetworking previously only offered its VPN business customers in the U.S. are now available internationally. GTE Internetworking guarantees 99.9% network availability, and also covers the users' local-loop connection.

And International DiaLinx customers are getting GTE Internetworking's 97% busy-free and minimum modem connection speed of 26.4K bit/sec guarantees. While other service providers are offering more aggressive SLAs domestically, many business ISPs are only offering business services in a few countries overseas.
