Site Editor Jeff Caruso helps you make sense of the evolving world of LANs and routers.
Have you seen Wendell Odom's blog at Network World? If you are at all interested in obtaining a Cisco certification like the CCNA or CCNP, you should check it out.
Odom has been writing the blog since last September, and he has built quite a following. He has created a series of blog posts on how to build a CCNP lab - including different recommendations for different budget levels - after writing a similar series on a CCNA lab.
You can read in his bio that Odom is a CCIE who writes books for Cisco Press and teaches certification classes for Skyline ATS. He has spent the last 15 years teaching, writing and consulting about network technologies. He has published several books on CCNA certification, including one published in September. Network World posted a chapter from that book back then, and you can still access it.
I know that whenever we put a link to Odom's latest post in the LAN/WAN Tech Center - the new name for the redesigned Research Center - it gets a fair number of clicks. And there are often comments on his posts, so I can tell that what he's writing is resonating with a lot of our readers.
Most recently Odom has been discussing study plans for certification tests, and he even provided a sample CCNA/CCENT study plan.
Odom is a key part of the larger Cisco Subnet community at Network World and a valuable resource. I encourage you to check out his blog, bookmark him or get the RSS feed.
