Raritan rolled out what it claims is the first 64-port KVM-over-IP switch.
Since the switch can manage the keyboards, mice and video of more servers, customers can reduce the number of switches, IP addresses and network drops they deploy.
The company is also enhancing its remote management software, which ships with the 64-port KVM-over-IP appliance and giving it improved video quality and responsiveness.
The 2U high 64-port Dominion supports one local and four remote users and provides dual power supplies with automatic failover. Dual LAN ports provide for high reliability and availability. It has dual-power supplies for added protection.
The Dominion KX464 is also joined by the 1U high 32-port KVM-over-IP model, which was also just announced. The 32-port KX132 supports one local and one remote user.
Both the Dominion KX464 and the KX132 feature Raritan's Virtual KVM Desktop, a management interface that makes remote access indistinguishable from local access. They also feature Raritan's Universal KVM Client, which lets administrators manage the KVM switches from a browser.
The Dominion KX software - Release 1.4 - has been enhanced to give analog-like video performance to the IP based connection. With it, users can calibrate color to reduce bandwidth usage. In addition, an Intelligent Mouse Synchronization feature replaces the need for administrators to manually adjust the mouse motion and acceleration setting for individual Windows servers.
The Dominion KX464 is $8,500; the Dominion KX132 is priced at $3,800. Both are available now.
