Information access vendor Kazeon last week launched version 3.0 of its software that lets IT administrators search, discover and access file information from the network.
Kazeon announced two versions of its e-discovery software: the Kazeon Information Server Data Center Edition and the Kazeon Information Center, which supports the federated management, search and reporting of information stored on network-attached storage devices and file servers. Residing on a variety of network-attached storage devices and file servers, each of these software versions is available as a standalone appliance or as software only.
Further, the company announced optional Advanced Modules for Network Appliance, Symantec’s Enterprise Vault and Microsoft Exchange, as well as support for most SMTP-based journaling methods: PST, OST, MSG and EML files.
With this release, the IS1200-ECS, IS1200-FRM and IS1200-SA are now delivered as appliances or as software-only, which a customer can install on a server of their choice. A remote office edition of the IS1200-ECS, IS1200-FRM and IS1200-SA is also available that can run as a virtual appliance on VMware Infrastructure 3 under Windows. The Information Center software can also be appliance based or as Linux software only.
The new Information Center software allows IT to create groups of clusters and start and stop them from a central location. IT admins can search the Federated Cluster and report on an aggregate basis on information stored on the cluster.
Pricing for Kazeon’s software and appliances is based on the number of appliances or the number of servers the software is installed on. In addition, Kazeon allows per terabyte per server pricing based on the number of terabytes the product manages. For its e-mail connectors, pricing is based on the number of user mailboxes.
