StoredIQ last week rolled out a new version of its e-discovery appliance that includes support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 and SharePoint 2007.

The StoredIQ eDiscovery Appliance 4.6 also includes deeper discovery capabilities, which enable themselves through by improved query report analytics, the ability to harvest e-mail objects such as tasks, contacts, calendar items and notes, support for EDRM XML v1.0 and enhanced usability and productivity. The improved query report analytics help with ‘meet and confer’ sessions with legal counsel.

In addition, StoredIQ 4.6 has the ability to add unstructured information into the newest release of EMC Documentum and be able to place that information under legal hold. It can automatically apply Documentum keywords to the inserted information.

Further investigators now have greater visibility into e-discovery. They are able to view classification status that will assist them in the e-discovery lifecycle.

StoredIQ was founded as DeepFile in 2001. After a few years of existence collecting data from file servers and NAS devices with an eye to eliminating redundancy, the company renamed itself StoredIQ. The new company focused on the collection of information for specific vertical markets such as healthcare, compliance and e-discovery.

Today, StoredIQ is headed by president and CEO James Shellhase, formerly of Techxas Ventures, a company that provided early funding to DeepFile.
