From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

I started working for Pratt & Whitney in Beek, Netherlands, where I managed a small network. This network was Netware 4.x and Windows NT 4.0 based. After 2.5 years I started to work for Candidate, where I spent 6 months on location for the Central Bureau of Statistics. I also worked for Carglass Netherlands; they had a Windows NT 4.0 based network, with more then 50 location throughout the country. Since May 2000, I work for the Central Bureau of Statistics., a Dutch government agency supplying the Dutch government, the European Union and everyone who has access to the Statline server, with statistical data. The network of the CBS consists of two locations; I work at the location in Heerlen. My responsibilities are to maintain a highly available network, with primary attention for the availability of the web-servers, mail-servers, ftp-server, content-scanning servers and firewalls. Soon I will participate in the Connectivity project: A project which will replace the current physical infrastructure for publicly accessible networks. This also implies the introduction of Security Management, Intrusion Detection, new firewalls, possible new content managers and a new DMZ.
