Red Hat says servers breached; 'Fat tree' could trim data center costs




Red Hat confirmed Friday that hackers compromised servers belonging to the company and the Fedora Project, including systems used to sign Fedora packages. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, this week proposed a network architecture that would enable commodity Ethernet switches to deliver better performance at a lower cost than their 10 Gigabit Ethernet counterparts.
