Google links Outlook with Gmail; GM taps former AT&T CEO as new chairman

Google on Tuesday unveiled synchronization technology that supports Microsoft Outlook as the front end to Gmail, giving users an option to scrap Exchange on the back end while allowing users to keep their familiar desktop client. Also, General Motors announced Tuesday it would appoint former AT&T CEO Edward Whitacre as its new chairman after it emerges from bankruptcy. (5:14)
