Gas prices got you down? Work from home

Katherine Spencer LeeA majority of 539 workers polled by staffing specialist Robert Half International said they will carpool or telecommute to lessen the impact of gasoline prices on their wallets. This week's newsmaker Katherine Spencer Lee, executive director of Robert Half Technology, which specializes in IT and technical staffing, says network managers can expediate the telecommuting plans for companies -- and even schedule work-from-home days for IT staff. Crackin' the Kraken bot

Cody PierceTwo researchers from Tipping Point's Digital Vaccine Labs successfully infiltrated one of the world's largest botnets -- known as Kraken -- by reverse engineering the encryption routines and figuring out the communication structure between the botnet owner and the hijacked computers. Cody Pierce, our newsmaker of the week, was one of those researchers. (9:28)
