Error 404--Not Found

Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

Faster, better, smarter public networks

Jeff AllenIn this day and age of application-aware and multimedia networking, there's a lot more to being a global carrier than route miles, fiber runs and access points. Behind the scenes, carriers are evolving to next-generation networks that will painlessly carry multiprotocol traffic mixes and deliver unprecedented levels of customer service. Joining the program is Jeff Allen, vice president of offer management at Level 3, to talk about what he calls the "telecom utility" -- ie, the ability to support a whole bunch of services flowing through one port. Greater VoIP options, stronger VPN guarantees and a new slew of managed services for disaster recovery, security, storage and more will be in the offing. (15:54)
