The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. |

Evelyn Hubbert, a senior analyst at Forrester Research, discusses this new breed of automation, shares which vendors she has her eye on and offers advice to network managers hoping to introduce automation to their daily operations today.
