Network World’s Annual Salary Survey Shows
Network Executives’ Salaries are on the Rise Again

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA — July 21, 2003 — Network World, Inc., the Leader in Network Knowledge, published its annual Salary and Top Concerns surveys.
This year’s Salary survey reveals that compensation for the highest-level
Network IT Executives rose 3.5%, while salaries for network managers and their
staff increased 4% over 2002. Although modest, these increases outpace the
2002 inflation rate of 1.59%.

One of the biggest surprises of the survey is bonuses for Network IT Executives, who expect a very healthy 24.7% increase over 2002, during which bonuses were often frozen for business reasons. An even more inspiring increase, of 30.9%, is expected by e-commerce-related professionals.

Network World’s second survey, "Top Concerns," reveals securing the enterprise from hackers as the top concern among respondents for the third year in a row. Some of the other top-rated concerns are skills acquisition in new and emerging technologies; disaster recovery and business continuity procedures; and finding and retaining qualified employees.
