Network World's
Annual YOU issue reveals
Network
executives are commanding inflation-beating pay increases, generous
BONUSES and other pay-check boosting goodies
SOUTHBOROUGH,
Mass. July 26, 2004 Network World, Inc., the Leader
in Network Knowledge, published its annual You Issue featuring
the results of its popular Salary survey. This year's survey reveals
that base pay for senior-level Network IT Executives rose to $111,000
on average, a 5.6% increase over 2003. The average bonus for this group
is an anticipated $19,000.
Middle-level network IT professionals experienced salary increases of
4.6% over 2003. Other titles faring well were e-commerce managers (5.3%)
and network operations workers (4.7%). Salaries in the network IT sector
have continued to grow far faster than the rate of inflation, giving
hope to the buzz that the economic recovery is really underway in the
business sector.
An online Salary
Calculator complements the You Issue, allowing Network IT Executives
the opportunity to further explore their earning potential. The Salary
Calculator is available on Network World Fusion at www.nwfusion.com;
DocFinder: 3021. With this tool, IT professionals can find out how much
they should be earning based on job title, location and years of experience.
The survey also
asks network IT professionals to indicate job satisfaction based on
a selection of criteria. This year, like last, job security is the Number
1 factor. The threat imagined or realof jobs going to offshore
outsourcers may be fueling the fear about job security.
